Schedule of Events

-There is no fee to participate in the Committee Meetings (Audit, Executive, Nexus, Strategic Planning and Uniformity) and there will be an option for virtual participation.  A downloadable agenda will be posted on the schedule below, under the Online Materials column, in the upcoming weeks.  Dial-in instructions for virtual participation in the open-session of the meetings will be included on the agenda.

There is a technology fee of $100 to virtually attend the Attorney Training on Monday, April 29, 2024.  Advance registration is required as dial-in instructions for this session will be emailed to registrants one week prior to the session’s start.

State employees who are not attorneys are welcome to attend in-person the afternoon session of the attorney training on Monday, April 29.  Just check in at the registration desk on-site.

The morning session is open only to attorneys employed by departments of revenue and attorney general offices. Certificates of attendance will be provided to assist with CLE credits.  For additional information, contact MTC Counsel, Brian Hamer.

  • A free, full breakfast will be offered daily beginning at 7:00 am as well as morning and afternoon beverage breaks.
  • Attendee check-in and assistance will be available at the registration desk each day from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Reservations: The MTC has secured a block of guestrooms at the government per diem rate of $126.00 plus tax. To ensure you get our negotiated rate use the following link Intercontinental Hotel Reservation to book your reservation online.  Please enter the dates of your stay (make sure they are within the block dates) and it will give you the group rates and room availability.  The MTC group rate will only be guaranteed for reservations made on or before Monday April 1, 2024, or until our room-block is sold-out—whichever comes first. Reservations made after our cut-off date, or if our block is sold-out, may be sold at the hotel’s standard rate.

Check—in time is 4:00 pm and check—out time is 11:00 am. If a late-checkout is required, advise hotel staff upon check-in.  Please note there is a $75 charge for late check-out.

Individual reservations can be cancelled at no charge 48 hours prior to scheduled arrival.  Any cancellations after this time will be charged one night’s room & tax.  If reservations are part of a rooming list, same policy applies.

A complimentary full breakfast buffet is served daily, and lunch is on your own.   A “Wind Down” reception will occur Monday – Wednesday where light fare will be served, and there will be a cash bar.

 


Statement Regarding Public Participation

Generally, meetings of the Commission and its Committees are public. Persons attending public sessions need not identify themselves. However, some of the listed meetings may not be entirely public. Under the Commission’s Public Participation Policy, closed meetings may be held in matters involving certain personnel issues and the acquisition/disposition of real estate, matters required by law to be confidential, including discussion of certain taxpayer information, and some discussions with counsel over pending litigation. For your convenience, you may choose to contact Nancy Prosser at (202) 650-0300, for an indication of which of the listed meetings may not be entirely public. Your contact, which may be on an anonymous basis, also permits the Commission to provide adequate seating.
